YRGCARE
Multi-modal biometric attendance and participant identification across a nationwide HIV/HCV research study.
The challenge
YRGCARE runs the StopC research study across seven locations in India, where reliably identifying both staff and study participants is essential. Their earlier fingerprint approach could not scale to the study’s needs, and they required a system that supported multiple biometric modalities — including iris — and could work contactless.
The solution
YRGCARE selected a customized version of NCheck, running an on-premises server with clients installed across all seven sites. The system supports fingerprint, face and iris recognition, with iris scanners integrated directly. They moved from NCheck v4 (client-server) to the v5 cloud architecture, hosted in their own environment, with easy data capture and scheduled backups.
Results
- Reliable multi-modal identification across all seven research sites
- Contactless capture proved essential during and after COVID-19
- Easy data capture and configurable periodic backups
- Attendance and reporting information available anytime, anywhere
- Improved efficiency and lower operational cost
